the gentle way

2025
Under camera watercolor

The film follows a girl at the start of her judo journey who, like many other white belts, feels intimidated and overwhelmed. But through the steady support of her training partners and the quiet encouragement of the dojo, she slowly begins to build confidence.

The story is a reflection on how resilience is shaped not in isolation, but through the presence of others. In making the film, the filmmaker revisits her own path in the sport, remembering the challenges, the moments of doubt, and the support she received through her community.
